Lose the beer belly, its not attractive and its not healthy

If you’re here, I’m assuming you have put on some weight and you have a beer belly. Most people that come to this site, do so because they are over weight.  The harsh reality is that most people that have a beer belly will always have a beer belly and will do absolutely nothing to get rid of it. The irony is that they want nothing more than to get rid of it, but are too pressured, or usually lazy to actually do anything about it. Before reading on, you need to decide if you are serious. If you are, then I will show you how I did it and how you can apply the same principles. If you’re not serious/just curious/thinking about it, then do yourself a favour and come back when you’re sure.

My story

I decided to quit smoking, which was the best thing I ever did. I never really had a weight issue, in fact I struggled to keep it on. However, as soon as I stopped smoking my appetite for food and drink, went through the roof. I was obviously replacing my habit. After 6 months, I’d gained 10 kilos, which was huge amount of weight to gain in such a short period of time and it was all on my belly. The dreaded beer belly had finally arrived.

My appetite started to level out, however, the weight remained. I was already pretty active, so was sure that a burst of cardio and weights in the gym would burn the fat and help me lose the beer belly fast. How wrong I was. I got bored with the cardio, I did abdominal exercise after exercise, but the belly fat would just not budge. My beer belly was going nowhere fast.

After weeks of research on the net, in book stores, talking to trainers and exercise crazed friends, I stumbled across a book by Mike Geary. I read the sales page and decided to go for it the next day with the 21 day $4.95 trial. I could download the entire book and take 21 days to decide whether it was any good. I had nothing to lose and a six pack to gain.

I can honestly say that this guy changed my life in approximately 6 weeks. Not only did he help me get rid of my beer belly, but I now also have a six pack for the first time in my life :-) . It was like having a personal trainer to guide you through the entire process, without the huge cost.

Its clear that abdominal machines i.e. the gadgets that end up on ebay and the so called wonder pills really are BS when it comes to getting rid of visceral fat (fat that surrounds your internal organs – belly fat). The only way is through exercise and diet, BUT you need to know what you are doing. When I read through Mike Geary’s book for the first time, I was shocked to see how many things I was doing wrong. If you are serious about getting into shape and losing your beer belly, this book is a must read.

A fat beer belly is seriously damaging to your health

When I found out that the fat surrounding my internal organs (visceral fat) is the most dangerous of all, I started to panic a little. I felt that no matter what I did, it would always be a problem for me. However, this turned out not to be the case and I lost my belly fat with a large dose of dedication and discipline (who said it would be easy).

My father in law, suffered a massive stroke a few years ago while on holiday in Greece. Suffice to say, it was the most traumatic experience of his (and his wife’s) life. He had always smoked, drank and eaten rich foods and to top it all off, he ran a stressful business for many years. He was close to retirement and was in danger of not making it. He needed to change a lot about his life and that included losing his beer belly fast.

After I managed to lose my beer belly, I decided to talk to my father in law to help him do the same. Losing my beer belly was easy in comparison, because he’d sort of given up if that makes sense. After much shouting and debate, he decided to give it a crack and I’m pleased to report that he’s realised that to lose a beer belly, he needs to change his way of life. In order to lose weight and burn fat, he needs to combine a healthy diet with exercise to lose the beer belly. He’s doing it, the weight is coming off, but it will take time, but he’s doing it thats the main thing.

Losing a beer belly is not as hard as you might think.

The first time I realised that the beer belly was starting to grow I was filled with dread. I remember my Dad having a beer belly and being skinny every where else. I was fast becoming my Dad in record time. Its not just the weight gain that’s the issue, but its also the small things, like putting on your socks or baring all on the beach, that start to take over your life. When I put a plan in place to lose my beer belly, all started well, but no matter how much I exercised to lose my beer belly, I just couldn’t burn the fat in my mid section. I raised my cardio activity, I started to drink and eat less, but to no avail.

The trigger to the weight gain was stopping smoking. I stopped and developed a voracious appetite for food and drink. I was replacing the habit with a beer belly. I knew the key was weight loss and burning fat, but how? The question that consumed me was “how to lose my beer belly fast?”.

I didn’t just want to lose my beer belly, I wanted it gone for good. So I would need to develop a life style as opposed to crash diets and exercise regimes that are short lived.

I literally spent months researching the net and reading book after book. You could use crazy machines and even worse, really dodgy supplements. I wanted non of this, I wanted a concept based on exercise and diet that would control my weight loss and would be permanent.
